Esa corriente es del orden de 200 veces superior a la que hay en la entrada. Por eso, el primer efecto, el primer servicio que tiene un transistor en un chip es amplificar. El uso de estos amplificadores es el transmitir se\u00f1ales el\u00e9ctricas, es decir se\u00f1ales a las que se cuida mucho la forma de onda y tienen que ser funciones lineales.&nbsp; Estos chips, para estas funciones, tienen pocos transistores: puede ser uno solo o puede ser decenas o centenares. Otro uso es de transmitir energ\u00eda: tambi\u00e9n son pocos transistores los que se utilizan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un tercer uso es en funciones l\u00f3gicas y aritm\u00e9ticas. Los sistemas digitales con este tipo de funciones tienen decenas de miles de transistores. Por \u00faltimo, las memorias, aqu\u00ed hablamos ya de millones de transistores. Las memorias permiten guardar los datos y los programas con los que se hacen las operaciones sobre los datos.&nbsp; En los datos va&nbsp; el video, va la voz, van los n\u00fameros para muchas cosas. Los chips que llegan estas memorias tienen del orden de 1000 millones de transistores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para hacernos cargo de esta magnitud voy a poner una comparaci\u00f3n con el cielo, con la astrof\u00edsica.
