{"id":9553,"date":"2026-03-12T12:31:33","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iuma.ulpgc.es\/?p=9553"},"modified":"2026-03-12T12:31:33","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:31:33","slug":"iuma-presente-acto-investidura-nuevos-doctores-ulpgc-curso-academico-2024-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iuma.ulpgc.es\/en\/iuma-presente-acto-investidura-nuevos-doctores-ulpgc-curso-academico-2024-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Investiture of three new doctors from IUMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-6 col-sm-4\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iuma.ulpgc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/extraordinarios_2024_2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9555\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.499976843068663\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iuma.ulpgc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/extraordinarios_2024_2025.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.iuma.ulpgc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/extraordinarios_2024_2025-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iuma.ulpgc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/extraordinarios_2024_2025-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-6 col-sm-4\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>February 28th<\/strong>, in a solemn ceremony held at the Paraninfo, the ULPGC conferred<strong> 69 new doctors<\/strong> , who read their theses in the 2024\/2025 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the case of IUMA, three young researchers have been trained in the Telecommunication Technologies and Computational Engineering (T2IC) program, a joint program between the IUMA and SIANI University Institutes of the ULPGC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new doctors are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. \u00c1mbar P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda, who completed the doctoral thesis \u00ab<em>Towards transferable pollution detection methods in aquatic environments using hyperspectral technology<\/em>\u00bb directed by the IUMA professor Jos\u00e9 Francisco L\u00f3pez Feliciano.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p>Dr. Pablo Fern\u00e1ndez Moniz, whose doctoral thesis is entitled  \u00ab<em>Procesing and analyzing large volumes of geospatial data using geographic information systems and smart applications<\/em>\u00ab, which has been directed by the IUMA professor Jos\u00e9 Pablo Su\u00e1rez Rivero and by Professor Agust\u00edn Rafael Trujillo Pino of <a href=\"https:\/\/iuces.ulpgc.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IUCES<\/a>.<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p>Dr. Abi\u00e1n Hern\u00e1ndez Guedes, whose thesis is entitled <em>\u00abExploring medical artificial intelligence interpretability through the lens of Information Theory\u00bb<\/em>, directed by professors Gustavo Marrero Callic\u00f3 from IUMA and Juan Bautista Ruiz Alzola from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iuibs.ulpgc.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IUIBS.<\/a><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Researcher \u00c1mbar P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda has received the ULPGC doctoral award in the area of \u200b\u200bEngineering and Architecture for her work and academic excellence as a young researcher.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El pasado 28 de febrero,\u00a0en un acto solemne celebrado en el Paraninfo, la ULPGC ha investido a 69 nuevos doctores y doctoras que leyeron sus tesis en el curso acad\u00e9mico 2024\/2025.
