PhD thesis defense of Laura Quintana
The University Institute of Applied Microelectronics is pleased to announce the upcoming doctoral thesis defense of one of its researchers, Laura Quintana. This event will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Auditorium of the Electronics and Telecommunications Building, Tafira University Campus.
Laura Quintana will present her thesis entitled “Contributions to the Standardization and Optimization of Hyperspectral Microscopic Systems for Medical Diagnosis.” This research addresses the use of hyperspectral imaging as a diagnostic tool in histopathological samples.
El tribunal está compuesto por la Dra. Claire Chalopin de la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Artes (Göttingen, Alemania), la Dra. Freija Geldof del Instituto Nacional de Cáncer (Ámsterdam, Países Bajos), y el Dr. Roberto Esper-Chaín, del Instituto Universitario de Microeléctronica Aplicada (IUMA) de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), quienes evaluarán los resultados y la metodología empleada en la investigación.
