The future of health and wellbeing: From Chips to Healthcare Services
Professor Juan Antonio Montiel Nelson, MEMS division of IUMA, is co-author of the whitepaper distributed at European level by INSIDE, on the initiative being proposed for FOCUS TOPIC in the next Chips JU programme. This is a white paper co-authored on behalf of the ULPGC (Spain), shared with the companies STMicroelectronics (France), Franhoufer IPMS (Germany), XTT (Austria) and the associations INSIDE and AENEAS. It also includes the collaboration of La Poste (France) and MEDTRONICS (Spain), among others.
The document states that " ... The journey from chips to services is not just technical: it is a journey towards a healthier, more inclusive, and more resilient Europe. ... Europe’s healthtech market is evolving through a combination of industrial strength, entrepreneurial agility, and collaborative governance. MedTech manufacturers are embedding intelligence into devices; startups are accelerating the digitalisation of care; and PPPs are providing the structure to scale these innovations across borders. This dynamic equilibrium, supported by coherent policy instruments, positions Europe to compete globally while upholding its values of trust, inclusiveness, and sustainability"
