The University Master's Degree in Electronics and Digital Technology begins at the IUMA

The METDA is taught over one academic year, with a total of 60 credits.

A partir del lunes 29 de septiembre se comenzará a impartir el Máster Universitario en Electrónica y Tecnología Digital Aplicada (METDA) por el Instituto Universitario de Microelectrónica Aplicada (IUMA) de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, en el Campus Universitario de Tafira.  Se trata del primer máster dual que imparte la ULPGC. EL METDA posibilita completar la formación en empresas del sector radicadas en Canarias. Es una apuesta decidida por el desarrollo de la electrónica y de la tecnología digital en Canarias. Las empresas que apoyan la formación dual son Aerolaser System, Arquimea Research Center and Wimmic TST Celestia.

The METDA is taught over one academic year, with a total of 60 credits, 30 common credits during the first semester and another 30 in the second semester. The program concludes with the completion of a Master's Thesis (TFM). The credits corresponding to the second semester are completed in a dual format, either in a company in the sector, with a training contract. It is also possible to take elective courses aimed at specialization in preparation for a doctorate studies.

Contenidos

The training offered includes subjects with important tools and techniques related to:

  • Research methods, including Computational Statistics and Machine Learning (ML), Optimisation, Design of Experiments, Modelling and fitting of experimental data, Big-Data, data science, data mining and analytics, Modelling and simulation, Classification and imaging, and Accelerators of AI techniques.
  • Design of complex electronic systems, including the design of Integrated Circuits, Systems-on-Chip (SoC), Design of Electronic Systems for applications in Industrial Electronics and Computer Electronics, Communications Electronics, Electronics for Sensors, and Embedded Systems and Digital Systems for the Internet of Things (IoT) are compulsory subjects.

In this first edition, students from the Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Technologies, the Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Industrial Automation, the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, and other related degrees have enrolled.
