eMIDHE+ project funded in the call for proof-of-concept projects
The project has been proposed by the Microelectronics Technology group of the IUMA.
The project "Enhancing Modem IntegrateD Circuits for Harsh Environments (eMIDHE+)”, whose principal investigators are Dr. Francisco Javier del Pino Suárez and Dr. Sunil Lalchand Khemchandani, has been funded with 143,729.85 Euros in the 2023 Call for Projects of "Proof of Concept", an Spanish program to promote scientific-technical research and its transfer, within the National Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2021-2023
Spanish program «Prueba de Concepto» 2023 (PERTE CHIP), are intended to finance projects that accelerate the transfer of knowledge and results in the strategic area related to microelectronics and semiconductors (Chips), generated in research projects in progress or recently completed. It contributes to the Microelectronics and Semiconductor Strategic Project (PERTE CHIP), whose objective is to strengthen the design and production capabilities of the microelectronics and semiconductor industry in Spain. They must also favor national and EU strategic autonomy in this sector, in line with the provisions of the European Chip Act. To this end, they must show potential to incorporate their results to the market or to generate value in society.
The funding is aimed at promoting the early stages of pre-competitive development and facilitating its practical application, such as the protection of the knowledge generated, the analysis of the technical, commercial or social feasibility, obtaining technological prototypes, pilot-scale development, end-user testing, definition of the business model, or the early stages of the creation of a company.
