The University Institute of Applied Microelectronics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is pleased to announce the upcoming doctoral thesis defense by researcher Mr. Carlos Vega García. This event will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the Auditorium of the Electronics and Telecommunications Building, Tafira University Campus, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Researchers Javier Santana Núñez (FIISC) and Carlos Vega García (ULPGC) travelled around 4,300 kilometres from Gran Canaria to Stockholm to install the STRATUM Intraoperative Acquisition System (SIAS) at Karolinska University Hospital (KUH) as part of the Region of Stockholm (RS) partner. The visit brings the project’s hyperspectral imaging technology for brain tumour surgery research to the third participating hospital, incorporating all improvements developed from previous prototypes.
